Scuba Diving is the adventure of a lifetime. You will experience new worlds and see things beyond description. However, you first need to become a certified diver. Openwater Scuba Diver is the doorway to certification. This course has three phases:
Academic: The Academic and Classroom portions of the course are done in conjunction with your Instructor and using the NAUI or SSI home study and e-Learning kits.
Confined Water: The Confined Water training is 3-5 pool sessions with your Instructor in a group or private setting. This is where the basic scuba skills are taught.
Final Openwater: The last phase is the Final Openwater training dives. This consists of five dives conducted over two days in a real world diving environment.
Knowledge of the Underwater World is a key component of dive training. This includes knowing marine life, environmental factors and a whole lot more.
Rather than being confined to a classroom we use a comprehensive eLearning program that allows you to learn the basics of scuba diving at your own pace. The eLearning program with the Student Kit and supplemental instruction can help to make a safe and well rounded scuba diver
Neutral buoyancy, regulator retrieval, mask clearing. These are all skills that are essential to safe and fun scuba diving. Many of these skills take quite a bit of practice in order to master.
Confined water training is where these skills are hammered home. We offer confined water training for every schedule. Whether you would like to do your class on a weekend, a week night or privately we offer classes to meet every need.

FINAL OPEN WATER DIVES
ADD NITROX TO YOUR COURSE
Want to extend your bottom time, lessen your surface interval, and maximize every dive? Then you'll want to add the Enriched Air Nitrox (EANx) module to your Course. The EANx module allows you to dive with mixed gases that increase the amount of oxygen within your breathing mixture. This allows for a greater margin of safety on your dive as well as dramatically increasing your bottom time.
You will learn how to choose the proper blend of Nitrox for your dive profile, determine maximum depth limits for your Nitrox mixture, analyze your breathing mixture, and plan and safely execute each dive. Your instructor will teach you about the physiology of oxygen and nitrogen; advantages, disadvantages, and risks of nitrox; oxygen toxicity; hazards and precautions of handling oxygen; the concept of Equivalent Air Depth; use of EANx with standard Air Dive Tables; common gas mixing procedures; and more.
The Confined Water portion of the Openwater Course is taught at least twice a month. The Confined Water sessions are taught on of the following schedules*:
Monday and Thursday Evening Course
6pm to 9pm for two weeks
(May take up to three weeks depending on class size.)
A consectutive Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Friday from 6pm to 9pm
Saturday from 10am to 3pm
Private and Semi-Private Courses are available upon request.
The Final Openwater Dives are done after the completion of the Academic and Confined Water portions of the Course.
Final Openwater Dives are conducted on two consecutive days (usually on weekends.)
The good news is, we supply most of the equipment you need, including wet suits, cylinders, regulators and weights. This is top quality equipment that we would not only be happy to use ourselves, but have our friends and loved ones use as well. All students will be required to purchase/provide a NAUI or SSI eLearning Kit and Personal Gear (Mask, Fins, Snorkel and Boots) for personal use within the course.
These personal equipment items are ones for which comfort and fit are not only important, they’re critical. They are also items that, as a certified diver, dive operators expect you to own. In other words, you do not want to go anywhere as a diver without them. All equipment can can be purchased from us before the class starts. Please feel free to use any equipment you may already have in the course as well.
You don't need to be an Olympic athlete but you must be within decent physical health to participate in a Scuba Course. We may ask that you are cleared by your physician to Scuba Dive if necessary.
