Full Face Mask Diver
The purpose of this course is to train divers with the necessary procedures, knowledge and skills to safely dive with a full- face mask (FFM). Upon successful completion of this course, graduates are considered competent to engage in open water diving activities with a full-face mask provided the diving environment, activities, areas dived, and equipment approximate those of training. This course prepares you for the unique challenges of full-face mask diving, enhancing your skills and safety in the water.
The Full Face Mask is provided in the price of the course.
Participants must demonstrate proficiency in FFM diving by the end of the course through the following skills:
- Assemble and check the FFM system, perform pre-dive checks, and care for equipment.
- Conduct buoyancy checks and recognize surface communications.
- Control descents and ascents, maintaining a steady rate of ascent and hovering at a designated depth.
- Use underwater communications, clear the mask, locate an alternate air source, and manage weight systems.
- Employ the buddy system and monitor air supply effectively.
- Share air in a controlled manner and assist an unconscious diver to the surface.
Please note: A $100 fee will apply for no-shows or reschedules made within 48 hours of the course. An Open Water certification is required to participate in this course.
Students are required to provide their own gear, or rent from the Louisville Dive Center at the student's expense.
