Rescue Scuba Diver
Become a Confident and Capable Rescue Diver
Take the next step in your diving journey by mastering the skills needed to prevent and manage diving emergencies. Our Rescue Scuba Diver course prepares you to confidently handle a range of in-water challenges—from assisting tired divers to performing full rescues at the surface or from depth, whether from shore or boat.
Through hands-on training, you'll learn how to:

Conduct effective surface and underwater rescues

Improve your situational awareness and risk management
Important: This course involves extensive surface swimming and requires current certifications in Open Water Scuba Diving, CPR/First Aid and Emergency Oxygen Provider (or DFA). Required safety gear includes a Rescue Kit (throw bag, first aid kit, 10ft webbing).
Completing this course not only enhances your safety and confidence but also opens the door to leadership-level training like Master Scuba Diver, Divemaster, or Instructor. It’s a pivotal step toward becoming the dive buddy everyone wants by their side.
Please note:
- A $165 fee will apply for no-shows or reschedules made within 48 hours of the course.
- Must be Open Water certified and have current Basic Life Support/Emergency O2 Provider Or DFA certifications. Advanced Open Water is also preferred by not required.
- Students are required to provide their own scuba gear, or rent at the student's expense either rental or purchase from the Louisville Dive Center.
- Other required gear include: Rescue Kit (throw bag, first aid kit, 10ft of webbing). The Rescue Kit is sold at the Louisville Dive Center for a discounted price.
- All accommodations, transportation, park fees, and meals are NOT included in the price of this course.
- Tanks and weights are included in the course.
