What to Expect in Your Discover Avelo Experience

Get ready for a hands-on intro to the revolutionary Avelo System! The course starts with a quick, simplified briefing covering how buoyancy with Avelo is easier and more stable, basic controls, hand signals, and personalized weighting using the Avelo formula.

In the water, you’ll gear up, get buoyant, and experience the unique feel of Avelo diving—starting at 15 feet and descending to 35 feet to explore a course designed to showcase the system’s effortless buoyancy. You’ll be guided the entire way as you learn to pump, purge, and stay neutrally buoyant like never before.

After the dive, enjoy a brief debrief highlighting the key differences between Avelo and traditional scuba, and learn how to upgrade to full RAD certification.

All setup and cleanup? We've got it covered.

Important Info:

• Must be Open Water certified. 

• Bring your own mask, fins, snorkel, and booties.

• Avelo System (hydrotank, jetpacks) and ScubaPro regulators provided.

• Medical waiver required before accessing e-learning (available online or at Louisville Dive Center).

• E-learning is provided by Avelo.

• If you plan to complete the full Avelo (RAD) certification within 90 days, you’ll be eligible to apply $150 from your Discover Avelo payment toward the cost of the RAD certification!
